  Where did England disappear to?

  england is the oldest nation-state in europe.

  it is a pround and historic nation that is often buried under a "british" identity by the uk government.

  within the european unon, scotland and wales are treated as regional entities, yet england is broken up into 6 regions and is not acknowledged as an entity in itself.

  Is Jehovah Telling the Governing Body to Shut Down?

  is the governing body haunted by the thought that jehovah is telling them no and shut down?.

  rutherford is reported to have sought cash and rationed coal as a test of jehovah's will.

  knorr reported on getting an unexpected windfall of cash when they sought to buy the towers hotel.. but from where i sit, jehovah seems to have become very ungenerous towards these would-be theocrats, in recent years.. they dumped subscriptions.. they cut literature.. they went to paperbacks.. they cut magazines, by my count, for the third time.. they laid off bethelites.. they sold off brooklyn buildings.. they sold off printing/binding equipment.. so, now their latest 'litmus test' of jehovah's will is to simply dump the magazines in one lump and tell people to only take what they need.

  Are any of you addicted to your new sexual revolution?

  now that i am free from my bonds to an organization dictating to me what i can and cannot do (in bed included), i cannot stop.....i feel like an addict on coke or something, i have been with my bf for eight months now, and perhaps it is a combination of the newness of a sexual relationship with the release from my spiritual bonds, but....i feel like a cat in heat 24/7.

  of course my bf is not complaining even though i see he is physically tired parts of the day that i actually leave him alone (to go to work or sleep after hours of lovemaking).

  i wonder if anyone else has gone through similar experience.

  I don't doubt your figures but I would say that their internal costs/liabilities have gone up and they are stuck with cutbacks as a result

  I am quite sure you are correct in that Metatron. However I do not see the org disappearing anytime soon. No matter whatever happens they will retain a small corporation at least that collects revenue from members to keep the GB and cronies in their soon to be built Cult HQ.

  It's worth reading up on Rutherford's Beth Shan (NOT Beth Sarim) and noting the similarities to the new proposed HQ at Warwick. Very rural, self sufficient, underground bomb shelter, (now called below ground parking for 750 vehicles), vehicle repair facilities, (good excuse for large underground fuel store as per Beth Shan), own water/sewerage system. Ideal place for a relatively few select members to live through Great Tribulation, Terrorist Attacks, Armageddon, Nuclear War, Depression etc etc.

  Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Britain

  You have to be careful how you spell WT, two words NOT like watchtower magazine!

  hi everyone, in the congregation i grew up in, it was very cold and unloving.

  circuit overseers would come and go, they would give counsel and nothing changed.

  at one time even the do came at the same time as the co and gave counsel to 'widen out'.

  He was OK. Always gave a good talk. We used to go to Dudley Assembly Hall in the 1970's. He became DO in the South later on and was at Hayes Bridge.

  The Watchtower has a huge pile of assets, especially real estate, but cash flow is a different story. Contributions just aren't what they used to be.

  Is that a fact Metatron? Do you have any evidence to support that? I have no idea what the financial situation is in the US but here in the UK income for the past years is:

  2005 £19,744,000

  2006 £20,106,000

  2007 £26,140,715

  2008 £23,584,061

  2009 £27,082,527

  I do not see any drastic cut in contributions there. (Figures from Charity Commission). Last year was a tough time for many people but it doesn't seem to have made much difference to contributions. It would be interesting to find out if this is a UK trend or if these figures are repeated in other countries.
